A good uniform can look sharp for years — or fail within months, depending on care. Share this guide with staff when uniforms are handed out.
Jackets and waistcoats
- Use broad, shaped hangers matched to the shoulder width.
- Rest a jacket for a day between wears; with two, rotate them.
- Brush after wearing and empty the pockets.
- Never machine-wash. Spot-clean with a damp cloth; dry-clean only when genuinely needed.
- Steam or press through a cloth — never iron directly, which leaves a shine.
Shirts
- Wash cold or warm, buttoned, in a laundry bag.
- Separate whites, colours and darks.
- Hang to dry in the shade; press while slightly damp, collar and cuffs first.
Trousers and skirts
- Hang by the hem with clip hangers, or fold on the crease.
- Press through a cloth to keep a sharp crease without shine.
Polos and T-shirts
- Turn inside out to wash and dry, protecting colour, prints and embroidery.
- No high-heat drying; never iron directly on printed logos.
Operational wear
Follow the industrial laundering instructions for each cloth; separate heavily soiled items.
