The challenge

KIDO Group has both office staff and food production teams, so its uniforms need to be clean, easy to launder, hygienic and consistent across departments. For management and office staff, suits had to be cut to each person's measurements, with measuring and cloth selection completed in a single visit to head office.

02

Requirements

  • Uniforms consistent across office and production teams, clean and easy to launder.
  • Suits tailored individually for management and office staff.
  • Cloth reviewed and chosen on real swatches at head office.
  • Measuring within working hours, without disrupting anyone's day.
03

Solution

  • Swatch books brought to KIDO's head office so the client could compare colours and handle each cloth during the visit.
  • Collar, shoulder, sleeve, chest, waist and trouser length taken for every person in their own office.
  • Measurements and cloth choices recorded on a Mon Amie sheet by name, kept on file for tailoring and later top-up orders.
  • Three years of free alterations on the whole order.
04

Process

The visit began at KIDO Group's reception, where the display of the group's awards and products made the backdrop for a photo of both teams. The Mon Amie team then moved into the offices to measure.

Our tailor took collar, shoulder, sleeve, chest, waist and trouser length for each person, who stepped away from his desk for only a few minutes; a Mon Amie colleague wrote the figures onto a sheet against each name.

Swatch books were set on the table so the client could leaf through and handle each cloth before deciding; the choice was noted on the same sheet as the measurements.

Following Mon Amie's standard six steps: consultation → design & cloth → sample approval → individual measuring → production → delivery & three-year warranty. See the process →

Outcome

  • Management and staff measured at head office, with no trip to a showroom.
  • Cloth chosen on real swatches the same day as measuring.
  • Each person's suit cut to their own recorded measurements.
