Resort uniforms: standards, fabrics and cost

Resort uniforms need breathable, quick-drying, colourfast fabrics for sun and sea air. Mon Amie Uniform explains standards, fabrics and prices from 150,000 VND.

Resort uniforms: standards, fabrics and cost

A good resort uniform lets reception and service teams look relaxed and polished, blend into the setting, and still be easy for guests to spot when they need help. It rests on three things: fabrics that breathe, dry quickly and hold colour in sun and sea air; a cut that allows carrying, bending and long walks within a shift; and colours that suit the resort's own character.

Who wears what

Every department works differently, so uniforms should too:

  • Front desk and reception are the first point of contact. A shirt or neat-collared top with trousers or a skirt is the usual base, with a waistcoat or ladies' jacket if the style calls for it.
  • Restaurant, bar and pool teams do well in polos or short-sleeve shirts with trousers or skirts, in fabrics that absorb moisture and dry fast, since they are on the move all day.
  • Kitchen, security and back-of-house wear industry uniforms that are hard-wearing and easy to launder.
  • Shift and department managers share the colour palette but add a waistcoat or jacket, so guests can find the person in charge.

Our page on hotel and restaurant uniforms shows how guest-facing teams are dressed, and the approach carries over to resorts.

What is different about a resort

  • Climate: sun, humidity and sea air call for fabric that wicks sweat and dries quickly. Thick, close-woven cloth becomes uncomfortable after a few hours outdoors.
  • Colour: very pale shades show stains and perspiration, very dark ones absorb heat in the sun. Mid-tones, or colours drawn from the resort's palette, are usually kinder.
  • Colour fastness: uniforms are laundered often, so colour should not fade and fabric should not pill.
  • Creasing: a relaxed look should not turn into a rumpled one; blended fabrics crease less than pure fibres.
  • Name badges: clear, fixed in place, and bilingual if the resort welcomes international guests.

Common mistakes

  • Choosing a fabric that looks lovely on the swatch but runs hot outdoors for a full shift.
  • Using one style for every department.
  • Taking measurements once, when resorts often add staff by season.
  • Placing badges and logos where a scarf or apron will cover them.

Frequently asked questions

Which fabrics suit a resort in a hot, humid climate?

Favour breathable, quick-drying cloth such as cotton-polyester blends, cotton piqué for polos, or blended linen for a holiday look. Mon Amie provides real swatches so staff can feel and test them before approval.

How do we outfit seasonal hires?

New staff are measured individually and made to the approved sample so they match the existing team; measurements already taken are stored under employee IDs for later batches. Group your needs into batches, since each item has a minimum quantity.

What is the minimum order?

It depends on the item: suits, women's jackets and waistcoats from 5 pieces; shirts, trousers, skirts, industry uniforms and accessories from 20; T-shirts and polos from 30.

Can the colours follow the resort's setting?

Yes. Mon Amie presents three options in your brand colours, and you compare them before approving the sample.
