Uniforms for electricity and energy companies: standards and cost
Uniforms for electricity and energy companies should be deep in tone, breathable and crease-resistant. Mon Amie Uniform covers standards, fabrics and prices.

A good uniform for an electricity or energy company gives engineers and head-office staff a calm, consistent look when they meet partners, regulators and customers. It rests on three things: a deep, neutral palette that signals reliability; fabrics that breathe and resist creasing across a day that moves between office, meeting room and project site; and a cut that lets people sit, walk and climb in and out of vehicles freely.
Who wears what
Uniforms are more practical when they follow roles, because each group has its own rhythm:
- Operations and project engineers alternate between the desk, technical meetings and visits to project sites. A long-sleeve shirt that rolls up neatly, with trousers, is the usual base, plus a jacket for partner meetings.
- Leaders and managers wear a suit or ladies' jacket, optionally with a waistcoat, in the same colour family as everyone else.
- Head-office teams (administration, accounting, HR) wear shirts with trousers or skirts, sharing a few visible elements with the engineers: shirt colour, logo position and name badge. Our page on corporate and office uniforms shows how larger organisations dress across roles.
- Customer-facing staff add a scarf or tie in the same tone so visitors recognise who represents the company.
Standards worth checking
- Colour: navy, charcoal, grey or the company's own brand shade, with minimal pattern. Deep tones look serious and hide marks from a busy day.
- Breathability and crease resistance: staff move between air-conditioned rooms and hot, humid outdoor areas, so fabric must wick moisture and recover its shape after long sitting or car travel.
- Sleeves and pockets: sleeves roomy enough to roll up; a slim chest pocket for a pen and badge.
- Badge and logo: fixed, visible and clear of seams so the garment does not pucker.
- Laundering: colour holds and fabric does not pill after repeated washes.
One distinction matters. Specialised safety equipment (helmets, boots, protective garments, and flame-resistant or anti-static fabrics where an employer requires them) falls under each company's own safety rules, while the uniform described here is business wear. If staff must wear it together with protective gear, tell us during the survey so we can design around it.

Fabrics that suit engineers and office teams
Real swatches are shown to your team at the design stage. Common fabric families:
| Fabric family | Strengths | Watch out for | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton-polyester blend | Breathable, low-crease, durable | Less soft than pure cotton | Engineer and office shirts |
| Polyester-viscose with spandex | Holds shape, light stretch | Press on medium heat | Jackets, trousers, skirts |
| Cotton piqué | Absorbent, hard-wearing | Softer structure, not for jackets | Polos for site visits and travel |

Frequently asked questions
What colour suits an electricity or energy company uniform?
Choose deep tones such as navy or charcoal, or your own brand colour, and keep patterns minimal. Deep shades read as dependable and hide marks well. Mon Amie presents three options so you can compare before approving.
Can engineers working on site wear this uniform?
It is business wear, suited to working hours, meetings and partner visits. Protective equipment follows each employer's own safety rules; raise your requirements at the survey and we will design a uniform that works alongside it.
What is the minimum order?
It depends on the item: suits, women's jackets and waistcoats from 5 pieces; shirts, trousers, skirts and accessories from 20; T-shirts and polos from 30. We explain how the minimums apply to your mix of items during consultation.
