Uniforms for 4–5 star hotels: standards, fabrics and cost

A 4–5 star hotel uniform has two jobs at once: to express the hotel's style from the moment a guest reaches the front desk, and to keep its shape through long hours of service. Front-desk agents and lobby managers typically wear a jacket or waistcoat over a shirt, while service staff wear a lighter, easy-care set. What decides quality is fabric, stitching and consistency between shifts, more than the silhouette alone.

Roles by work area

Area Suggested set What it must keep
Front desk, lobby Jacket or waistcoat, shirt, tie or scarf Clean standing line, sleeves that do not crease while typing or writing
Lobby manager Jacket, shirt, accessories in the same tone but more prominent Easy to spot when several groups arrive at once
Restaurant, bar, room service Shirt, waistcoat, trousers or skirt Stretch for carrying trays, absorbency, frequent laundering

These sets fall under our hotel and restaurant uniforms range. If the hotel also needs uniforms for other departments such as kitchen or security, industry uniforms start from 300,000 VND.

Five checks when approving a sample

  1. Shape in motion. Ask a team member to reach for a key, bend for luggage and carry a tray, then watch whether the shoulders and underarms pull or crease.
  2. Stitching and finish. Hems, buttons, lining and seams should be clean. At our workshop, each piece passes quality checks at three stages: cutting, assembly and finishing.
  3. Fabric after repeated laundering. The surface should not shine or pill. Wash one sample garment before signing off.
  4. Colour in real light. View swatches under lobby lighting and daylight, because colours can shift. Mon Amie presents three options in your brand colours; browse styles in our design library.
  5. Consistency across shifts and new hires. Measurements are stored under employee IDs, and additional pieces are ordered from the approved sample.

Fabrics by area

  • Lobby and front desk: polyester-viscose for shape recovery and low creasing; a lightweight wool blend if the hotel prefers a smoother surface and better drape. Mon Amie confirms the fabrics available during consultation.
  • Restaurant and bar: cotton-polyester with spandex for shirts and trousers, because wearers walk, bend and lift constantly.
  • Scarves and ties: a smooth, softly glossy weave that adds colour without weight at the neck.
  • Industrial laundering: if the hotel launders centrally, say so early so that fabric and colour suit that process.

Real swatches are shown at the design stage so that you can handle them; check them under the hotel's own lighting too.

Cost: jacket or waistcoat?

Real prices depend on fabric, style and quantity. For front-desk teams the usual question is jacket or waistcoat. Mon Amie publishes starting prices by category: waistcoats from 600,000 VND, women's business suits from 1,500,000 VND, men's business suits from 3,000,000 VND, women's shirts from 480,000 VND, men's shirts from 600,000 VND, trousers and skirts from 600,000 VND, and scarves or ties from 150,000 VND. Minimum quantities: business suits from 5 sets and waistcoats from 5; shirts, trousers, skirts and accessories from 20. A formal quotation comes with the proposal after the survey.

Plan backwards from the first day of wear

Allow 4–6 weeks after sample approval for measuring, making and delivery. Count back from the date you want staff in the new uniform: subtract those 4–6 weeks, then leave extra time for the survey, choosing one of three design options and approving the sample. The timing of the earlier steps depends on the scope of the project; Mon Amie advises during the survey. The full six-step process runs from survey and design through approved sample, individual measuring, production and on-site delivery, and our measuring team visits the hotel on your schedule, including outside office hours.

At delivery, staff try the garments and we adjust on the spot, with free alterations for 3 years at every showroom. You can request a quotation on our quote page or call 0888.111.118 (same number on Zalo).

Frequently asked questions

Should a 4–5 star hotel choose jackets or waistcoats?

Both work. Jackets suit the front desk and lobby managers who need a formal presence, while waistcoats are lighter and cooler for staff who walk a lot. At starting prices a waistcoat sits below a jacket, though real prices also depend on fabric and style.

How do we add uniforms when the hotel hires more staff?

New hires order additional pieces from the approved sample, so they match the existing team. Measurements for current staff are stored under employee IDs, and newcomers are measured by appointment.

Can measuring happen outside normal hours?

Yes. Mon Amie measures at your premises on your schedule, including outside office hours. Share your shift pattern during the survey.

What should we consider if the hotel launders uniforms centrally?

Tell us about the industrial laundering process during the survey so that fabric and colour can be chosen to suit it. Before signing off, wash one sample garment and check whether the surface shines or pills. Mon Amie only starts production once your company signs off the sample.
