Coffee chain uniforms: standards, fabrics and cost

Coffee chain uniforms must handle heat, spills and frequent washing. Mon Amie Uniform covers standards, fabrics and T-shirt prices from 150,000 VND.

Coffee chain uniforms: standards, fabrics and cost

A coffee chain uniform lets baristas and counter staff stay easy to recognise and neat after hours beside the espresso machine, while standing up to heat, coffee and milk stains and constant laundering. A good set rests on three things: colours that suit the brand and hide marks, fabric that breathes and absorbs sweat, and a cut that does not get in the way behind the counter.

Who does what, and wears what

Not everyone in a shop needs the same garment. A common split:

  • Baristas work beside the machine, steam wand and sink, so they need close-sleeved tops that absorb sweat and dry quickly.
  • Cashiers and counter staff stand in front of guests, so a neat polo or shirt with a clear logo matters.
  • Floor staff walk and carry trays all day; breathable tops and trousers that allow bending are the priority.
  • Shift supervisors and store managers wear the same colour family plus a waistcoat or a differently cut shirt so they are easy to spot.
  • Kitchen and back-of-house staff wear separate industry uniforms, usually distinct from the counter set.

What to check before approving a sample

The area behind a counter is tougher than it looks. Before signing off, review these points:

  • Colour: white shows coffee almost at once, while very dark shades show milk powder and sugar. Mid-tones, or brand tones with a small pattern, usually look clean for longer.
  • Sleeves: short or three-quarter, avoiding wide cuffs near the steam wand and grinder.
  • Hem length: moderate, so it does not catch on the counter edge when staff bend for cups.
  • Polo collar: soft, yet not curling after many washes.
  • Colour fastness: coffee, milk and syrup stains should wash out without fading or pilling the cloth.
  • Aprons and logo: if stores use aprons, plan the logo position so it is not covered. Aprons are not part of our published starting prices; Mon Amie quotes them during consultation.

Food and beverage teams share much with hospitality, so our page on hotel and restaurant uniforms is a useful companion. Mon Amie Uniform has worked with Bài Thơ Hạ Long, and the photo below records one project with them.

Fabrics: breathable, absorbent, colour-fast

Cafés are usually air-conditioned, yet the bar area stays warm from the equipment. Your team can feel real swatches at the design stage.

Fabric family Strengths Watch out for Suits
Cotton piqué Absorbs sweat, hard-wearing, easy to wash Soft structure, not for jackets Barista and floor polos
Cotton-polyester blend Quick-drying, low-crease Less soft than pure cotton T-shirts, shirts
Polyester-viscose with spandex Light stretch, holds shape Press on medium heat Trousers, skirts, manager waistcoats

Planning the cost

Mon Amie publishes starting prices by category; real prices depend on fabric, style and quantity. See the full list on our pricing page.

Item From Minimum quantity
T-shirts and polos 150,000 VND 30
Men's / women's shirt 600,000 / 480,000 VND 20

Waistcoat 600,000 VND 5
Industry uniforms (kitchen, etc.) 300,000 VND 20

Each figure above is the starting price for that item alone, not a quotation; a formal proposal follows the survey.

Opening a new store: plan backwards

When a coffee chain opens a new store, uniforms must be ready for the new team. Allow 4–6 weeks after sample approval for measuring, making and delivery, on top of survey, design and sampling. Fix the sample early and raise your opening date at the first consultation; Mon Amie confirms the schedule.

Our six-step process, run by Hoàng Vy – Mon Amie (founded 1991, working with more than 500 companies a year):

  1. Survey and consultation at your premises, ending with a proposal and price range.
  2. Design and fabrics: three options in your brand colours, with real swatches.
  3. Approved sample: production starts only after sign-off.
  4. Individual measuring on site, on your schedule, stored under employee IDs.
  5. Production in our 1,000 m² workshop on 3/2 Street, with quality checks at three stages (cutting, assembly, finishing) and weekly updates.
  6. Delivery, fitting and adjustment on site, plus free alteration warranty for 3 years at every showroom.

To request a quotation, submit your details on our quote page or call 0888.111.118 (the same number on Zalo); Mon Amie will schedule a survey at your premises and then send a proposal with a price range.

Frequently asked questions

What colour should barista uniforms be?

Choose a mid-tone or your brand colour, and avoid pure white or very dark fabric, which show coffee and milk marks quickly. Mon Amie presents three options in your brand colours so you can compare before approving.

Are aprons included in the starting prices?

No. Aprons are outside the published starting prices, so raise them during consultation and Mon Amie will quote them by fabric and quantity.

How do new hires and new stores get uniforms?

They order additional pieces from the approved sample so they match the existing team, with measurements stored under employee IDs. Alterations are covered by the free 3-year warranty at every showroom.

Should baristas wear short or long sleeves?

Short or three-quarter sleeves are usually tidier beside the steam wand and grinder. If your shops prefer long sleeves, choose a fitted, not wide, cuff and test the sample with real movements behind the counter before approving.
