University uniforms: standards, fabrics and cost
University uniforms for lecturers and staff should be polished, breathable, low-crease. Mon Amie Uniform covers standards, fabrics and prices from 480,000 VND.

A university uniform for lecturers and staff is a polished, understated and durable set of clothing that gives the institution a consistent look in the lecture hall, at the admissions desk and in front of partners. The task is to carry the university's colours while staying comfortable for people who stand, teach and move between buildings for hours. This guide covers roles, selection criteria, fabrics and starting prices.
Who wears what
Dress by duty rather than one style for the whole campus:
- Lecturers: a shirt with trousers or a skirt, with a waistcoat or jacket added on important occasions. They stand, walk and write on boards for long periods, so ask this group for feedback when choosing a style.
- University leadership, deans and heads of department: a men's or women's jacket in the same tones as the wider team, with a more tailored line.
- Administration, admissions and student affairs: they meet students and parents directly, usually in a shirt with trousers or a skirt, plus a scarf or tie in the university colour.
- Security, housekeeping and technical staff: an industry uniform or polo, chosen for durability and easy washing.
Standards worth checking before approval
A university is formal and approachable at once. The uniform should not feel stiff, yet it must read clearly as belonging to an educational institution. Points to review:
- Colour: muted tones or the institution's own colour. Faculties can share one base and be told apart by a scarf, tie or logo position.
- Long periods standing: breathable, low-crease cloth; sleeves and underarms that do not restrict raising an arm to write; trousers and skirts that do not bind in meetings.
- Ceremonies: openings of the academic year, graduations and conferences call for a sharper look. A waistcoat or jacket over the existing shirt is the simple route. Specialist ceremonial dress sits outside the price ranges here, and Mon Amie quotes it during consultation.
- Procurement: many institutions have a multi-step purchasing process, so a clear proposal with a price range helps. It comes from the on-site survey, the first step of Mon Amie's process.
Mon Amie Uniform has worked with the Institute for Human Resource Development and Business — UEH; the photo below shows one project. Our page on uniforms for schools and education explains how we work with this sector.

| Jackets, trousers, skirts | Polyester-viscose with spandex | Holds shape, light stretch | Press on medium heat |

Six steps for a multi-faculty institution
Hoàng Vy – Mon Amie was founded in 1991, runs a 1,000 m² workshop on 3/2 Street with more than 80 skilled tailors, and works with more than 500 companies each year. The steps:
- Survey and consultation on campus, ending with a proposal and price range.
- Design and fabrics: three options built on the university's colours, with real swatches. Our design library is a good starting point.
- Approved sample: production starts only after the institution signs off the sample.
- Individual measuring on campus, including outside office hours. Measurements are stored under staff IDs.
- Production with quality checks at three stages (cutting, assembly, finishing) and weekly progress updates.
- Delivery, fitting and adjustment on site, plus free alteration warranty for 3 years at every showroom.
Allow 4–6 weeks after sample approval for measuring, making and delivery. New lecturers and staff are measured individually and made to the approved sample so they match the existing team.
