Hospital staff uniforms: standards, fabrics and cost
Hospital uniforms for admin, nursing and reception teams must wash well and show roles clearly. Mon Amie Uniform covers standards and prices from 300,000 VND.

A hospital uniform for administrative, nursing and reception teams helps patients find the right person quickly, and it has to be durable and easy to launder through long shifts. This article covers uniforms for lobbies, registration desks, departments and nursing floors. For protective clinical wear in operating theatres or isolation areas, discuss the required standards directly when requesting a quote.
Who wears what
Each group has its own demands, so uniforms usually follow roles:
- Reception, registration and customer care meet patients and families who may be anxious. A neat set in a soft colour with a large, readable name badge works well.
- Nurses and care assistants wear an industry uniform for healthcare (from 300,000 VND, minimum 20), where breathable, easy-wash cloth and room to bend, lift and walk all day come first.
- Administration, accounting and HR wear a shirt with trousers or a skirt, with a waistcoat or jacket for managers.
- Security, guides and patient transport wear an industry uniform or a polo that is easy to spot when someone needs directions.
Colour by department or job title is each hospital's own rule. You provide it, and Mon Amie builds three design options around it. Our page on healthcare and pharmaceutical uniforms is a good place to start.
Standards worth checking
Patients look for cleanliness and clarity in a hospital, so review these points before approving a sample:
- Clear roles: use colour, piping or badges rather than decorative detail, so a patient can tell at a glance who is at the desk and who is a nurse.
- Easy to wash, colourfast: uniforms are laundered very often. If the hospital has a central laundry, ask about wash temperature and chemicals first, because disinfectants can fade some fabrics.
- Breathable and absorbent: shifts are long and include nights; stuffy cloth tires people quickly.
- Free movement: waistband, underarm and sleeve should not restrict bending, lifting or pushing trolleys.
- Pale tones cut both ways: light shades feel clean but show marks sooner, so discuss them with your infection-control and laundry teams.

Fabrics: breathable, low-crease, wash-tolerant
What matters is holding shape and colour through many wash cycles. Real swatches are shown at the design stage, and we suggest test-washing the sample using your own laundry process before you approve it.
| Fabric family | Strengths | Watch out for | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cotton-polyester blend | Breathable, low-crease, durable | Less soft than pure cotton | Admin and reception tops |
| Polyester-viscose with spandex | Holds shape, light stretch | Press on medium heat | Trousers, skirts, manager jackets |
| Cotton piqué | Absorbent, hard-wearing | Softer structure, not for jackets | Polos for security and transport |

Frequently asked questions
Should nurses and admin staff share a colour?
That is the hospital's decision. A common approach is one colour family with differences in piping, badges or accessories, so patients can tell roles apart while the whole team still looks coordinated.
Which fabric tolerates frequent washing?
Cotton-polyester and polyester-viscose with spandex are both low-crease and durable. The reliable test is washing the sample through your own laundry process before approval, which our approved-sample step allows.
How do new or transferred staff get uniforms?
Measurements are stored under employee IDs, and new staff order additional pieces from the approved sample so they match the team. Alterations are covered by the free 3-year warranty at every showroom.
What is the minimum order?
Industry uniforms, shirts, trousers and skirts from 20; T-shirts and polos from 30; women's suits from 5. We explain how the minimums apply during consultation.
