Tech company uniforms: standards, fabrics and cost

A good uniform for a technology company is relaxed enough for engineers who sit for hours and sharp enough for sales and customer care teams meeting partners. It rests on three things: a minimal design in the brand's colours, soft, breathable, low-crease fabric, and two levels of formality within one identity, one for everyday work and one for client days.

Who wears what

Each team has its own rhythm, so uniforms follow roles:

  • Engineers and developers sit for long periods and meet few outside visitors. A polo or neat-collared T-shirt with tailored trousers or a straight-cut pair; comfort comes first.
  • Sales and solutions teams meet corporate clients, attend meetings and present. A shirt and trousers form the base, with a waistcoat or light jacket for partner meetings.
  • Customer care and technical support need a friendly but tidy look: a polo or shirt in the same colour family as sales.
  • Managers and leadership wear jackets in the team's tones for meetings, events and partner visits.

Standards worth checking

Before approving a sample, review these points:

  • Minimal branding: a small embroidered logo on the chest or sleeve. A very large logo makes a shirt look like event merchandise rather than a uniform.
  • Comfort when seated: fabric with a little spandex for light stretch, a back that does not pull, and easy elbows. Offices are often cold, so a thin waistcoat is a tidier extra layer than a heavy jacket.
  • Colour: a neutral base such as grey, navy or white, plus one brand accent at the collar or on a scarf. Avoid using many colours at once.
  • Two levels of formality: an everyday set of polo or T-shirt, and a client set of shirt with waistcoat or jacket, sharing colour family and logo placement so they read as one system.
  • Frequent machine washing: no shrinking or pilling, and the shape holds after many washes.

A tech company has much in common with an office team, and our page on office and corporate uniforms is a useful companion. The photo below records one project with BOSCH.

Fabrics for office days and client days

Wearers sit a lot in air-conditioning yet still move between meetings, so fabric should breathe, feel soft and recover its shape. Real swatches are shown at the design stage.

Fabric family Strengths Watch out for Suits
Cotton piqué Absorbent, hard-wearing, easy to wash Soft structure, not for jackets Everyday polos
Cotton-polyester blend Breathable, low-crease, durable Less soft than pure cotton Sales and care shirts
Polyester-viscose with spandex Holds shape, light stretch, low-crease Press on medium heat Waistcoats, jackets, trousers

Six steps from survey to warranty

Hoàng Vy – Mon Amie was founded in 1991 and works with more than 500 companies each year:

  1. Survey and consultation at your premises, ending with a proposal and price range.
  2. Design and fabrics: three options in your brand colours, with real swatches.
  3. Approved sample: production starts only once you sign off.
  4. Individual measuring at your office, stored under employee IDs.
  5. Production in our 1,000 m² workshop on 3/2 Street, with quality checks at three stages (cutting, assembly, finishing) and weekly progress updates.
  6. Delivery, fitting and adjustment on site, plus free alteration warranty for 3 years at every showroom.

Allow 4–6 weeks after sample approval. Measuring follows your schedule, including outside office hours, so it can be set for a day when the whole team is in.

Frequently asked questions

Polo or T-shirt for a tech team?

A piqué polo holds its shape better and looks sharper in front of partners, while a T-shirt is lighter for internal days. Many companies use the polo as a shared base and add shirts and waistcoats only for sales.

Can a small tech company order?

Minimums vary by item: jackets and waistcoats from 5 pieces, shirts, trousers and skirts from 20, T-shirts and polos from 30. For a small team, Mon Amie advises on your specific case during the survey.

How do you measure remote staff or people in other provinces?

For staff who rarely visit the office, the session can be set for a day they are in. For distant cities, Mon Amie measures by appointment or provides self-measuring guidance together with a sample; shipping costs and timing are confirmed during consultation.

How do new hires get their uniforms?

New staff are measured individually and made to the approved sample so they match the existing team; measurements already taken are stored under employee IDs for later batches. Alterations are covered by the free 3-year warranty at every showroom.
